A clothing swap is a type of swapmeet wherein participants exchange their valued but no longer used clothing for clothing they will use. Clothing swaps are considered not only a good way to refill one's wardrobe, but also are considered an act of environmentalism.
You don't need to bring clothes to take clothes and you don't need to take clothes to bring clothes!

If you missed the opening night of Syd Veverka’s ‘Angels and Demons’ show, have no fear! She is showing off her work twice more this month with open gallery nights at the Lee. Come formal, come casual, come alone or with friends and bring a drink if you’d like. Syd will be giving personal tours of her remaining works.
‘Angels and Demons’ is a series of painted works exploring the duality of good and evil. Good and evil and everything in between are represented through imagery of angels, demons and fairies. Syd emphasizes the importance of all areas of the spectrum of duality and explores how pieces of it interact. Her pieces accept the simultaneous existence of multitudes of emotions. The finished works come across as dreamscapes, using imagery from Syd’s psyche to portray complex ideas. They follow Surrealist concepts of portraying the messy workings of the unconscious mind through illogical scenes.

Calling all artists: We need a place to gather! Syd Veverka (illustrator and muralist) will be hosting a recurring meet-up for artists to network, chat about projects they’re working on, giggle, wiggle, and maybe even squiggle! We’ll have a pot of coffee made and space to work on little things.
Please share with any friends or artists that might be interested and bring a laptop, ipad, sketchbook or unfinished craft project.

We need a top to bottom cleaning of the whole house so we can finally stain these beautiful floors that we have been working on!

Come see the progress we've made! It's been quite some time since we've been able to open our doors to the public, but this week we are having a series of open house events to showcase the work so far. We are close to the finish line and now is the perfect time for us to turn it over to the community so you can begin to think about how you could utilize a Victorian home! Walk the space and use your imagination for short-term events, meetings, workshops, pop-ups, you name it!
The Lee Commons is thrilled to bring this programming from the Michigan Historic Preservation Network to Saginaw. This will be the first of a series we'll be providing for folks who want to get involved with restoration projects of their own.
This workshop is intended for people who are considering purchasing an older home or small commercial property and want to know how to identify and evaluate the main trouble spots. Participants learn how to complete a basic building assessment and how to determine whether signs of disrepair indicate a simple cosmetic problem or serious structural failure.
This webinar is supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. You may join online, or you can come to the Lee Commons for a socially distanced, in-person experience.

We’ve got a big job ahead of us and we need your help! We’re going to be removing lath and plaster that has been destroyed by water damage and prepping the Lee Commons space for a total rebuild. Bring gloves and wear appropriate clothing, it can get dusty.
Celebrate the crowd-funding success of the Lee Mansion and the possibilities it brings with books! Start 2020 on a positive note. Plus, shop unique treasures and local artist's creations.

We hope to see you there!
